About you

We’re not looking for an HR person. We’re not looking for someone who just writes job postings, either.
We’re looking for someone who knows what it feels like when, at the end of the day, they’re the only one with the answer. Someone who knows what it means to make decisions on their own that no one else sees. Someone who hangs out not just in meetings, but also behind the scenes, figuring out where the real bottlenecks are, who’s doing what, and what’s missing in the system.

You don’t think of People & Talent as just a function. You think of it as a mindset, inseparable from matching personalities and vibes. You have a background in coaching, but you don’t talk like a coach. You have consulting experience, but you want to do more than just consult. You’re not looking for your next job. You’re looking for the right context. DOJO is a cosmos made up of many companies. You don’t have to grasp it all right away. But you have to want to. You’ll shape what People & Talent looks and feels like at DOJO. We’re in the church.
DOJO is Kreuzberg, not Potsdamer Platz. We like rough edges; we like friction; we crave people who have opinions but can still listen. You know that culture doesn’t live on slides, but in what happens when no one is watching...and it certainly isn’t found where satisfaction is rated on a scale from 0 to 10.

Your mission

  • Strategic Responsibility: You lead the People & Talent Team and all related initiatives
  • You oversee the day-to-day HR operations for DOJO and all Cosmos companies
  • Peer-to-peer collaboration: you advise the CEO and management on all HR matters and align HR strategy directly with corporate goals
  • You don’t just report, you bring a vision for shaping the future
  • You develop recruiting strategies that don’t sound like cookie-cutter solutions
  • You build relationships before positions open up and know where to find the right people
  • You shape a corporate culture that is bold, transparent, and human, not just a motivational poster.
  • You expand development programs that actually help people grow and invent new ones when the right ones don’t exist yet
  • Restructuring, M&As, start-ups. You don’t make organizational changes more chaotic, you make them clearer.

Your profile

  • At least 7 years of experience in HR, both strategic and operational.
  • Agency or startup experience.
  • Ability to work independently. You know the feeling when everything is a priority at the same time.
  • Solid knowledge of labor law is a plus.
  • You know the boundaries, keep an eye on legal updates (or at least the Personio newsletter), and know when to bring in a lawyer.
  • Coaching experience. Not a requirement, but definitely a plus, especially if you don’t feel the need to constantly bring it up.
  • Fluent in German and English.
  • A knack for budgeting. You know what decisions cost, and you make them anyway.
  • Communication that resonates. Empathy that doesn’t shy away from conflict.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset. You take ownership.
  • You live in Berlin.
